Hola from Honduras!
Our family arrived January 9th in the country around lunchtime. After two pretty short flights (after you’ve traveled the 14-16 hour flights to China a 2-hour flight is nothing), we arrived! The kids did great traveling and we all piled into the vans/trucks with all of our luggage.
Praise God all fourteen pieces of checked luggage and 7 carry-ons made it.
After settling in at the Rearick Surgical Center (where we’ve been staying) we were able to get a meal together with our new friends, Team Honduras. All of us slept really well the first night. This past week we’ve been busy setting up our house. Lot’s of things needed to be done before we could move in. We were so thankful to have had a safe, comfortable, and beautiful place to stay while our house is getting ready.
Here are a few things we’ve had to do:
- Get a bank account
- Buy furniture
- Figure out the hot-water system
- Buy a phone and get WIFI
- Install air conditioning
We know so many people are praying and we can feel it! Our kids have done wonderful. Of course we’ve had some tears, and emotions are a little high, but they are making friends fast. The surgical center is right beside the Hope of Honduras children’s home, so there are over 20 children to play with everyday. The weather hasn’t been too hot (only in the 70s and 80s), and we are grateful.
Continue to pray we can officially move into our house soon and that all of the details will work out. We appreciate each and every one of you who prayers!
